My Vegetarian Diet Day ? 5 21/07/12

Here we are back  again. Once more writing this a day late so... started off with still nothing in the cupboard but managed to do a good shop later. Went a little over the top in the fruit and veg department but hey ho will have to eat it all now. Can i really lose weight eating as much fruit and veg as that???? Bought a strange fruit tea bread at a community celebration over the recreation ground which is surprisingly tasty, didn't get the recipe apart from it has a half pint of tea in it. Odd!

  Breakfast

      1 Banana
      1 Vegetable samosa

  Lunch

      Apricots and nectarine
      1 Wholemeal bread sandwich

Brie, beetroot, tomato, onion, sweet pepper

  Afternoon tea

2 slices of home made fruit tea bread mmmm
       1 peach yoghurt, live

  Dinner

      2 slices of pineapple
      2 slices of honeydew melon

      Traybake with sunflower oil

before

Potato, carrot, mushrooms, red onion, bell pepper, garlic

after

mmmmmm!

  Supper

1 slice of home made fruit tea bread
      Apricot

Well there you have it. The beetroot i got vacuum packed and pickled myself, adding chilli flakes, black peppercorns and black cardamon seeds, I forgot that i had already spiced my vinegar and the beetroot is quite fierce but tasty. All in all a good days eating.

Careful with your pickling and enjoy your food.

My Vegetarian Diet Day ?3 19/07/12

Hi everybody, doing this next morning but quite early :-) yesterday did finally manage Plus1 Fukushima Food my thoughts on the Japanese starting to sell marine produce from the nuclear coast. Check it out after reading my Diet of the Day ho ho.

  Breakfast

      2 Bananas

  Lunch

      2 x wholemeal bread sandwiches

Brie with chilli, tomato, onion, sweet pepper, sultanas

  Dinner

      2 slices of honeydew melon
      2 slices of pineapple

      Traybake with sunflower oil

Butternut squash, sweet potato, potato, bell pepper, mushrooms,
      onion

Well there you have it, a glamour page of photos as well, i hope my diet looks more interesting than it reads. I got a real taste for the pineapple, it is just perfectly sweet and juicy at the moment. I must admit though that dinner filled me so much i couldn't even manage my supper oranges. That is the power of good food. Please spare a thought for the Fukushima residents and their food.

So enjoy your food because you are what you eat.

My Vegetarian Diet day ?2 18/07/12

Hi, here i am again, too much walking yesterday did exhaust me and carry over until today, so it was a slow start :-)
Diet is getting a bit repetitive and, as i thought yesterday, trying to keep up this intensity of healthy eating is a challenge. Today i cracked and had a small bar of chocolate, as well as adding pineapple and sultanas to my food.

  Breakfast

      2 Bananas

  Lunch

2 x wholemeal bread sandwiches, brie with chilli, tomato, onion,
      sweet pepper, sultanas.

  Snack

40g bar of dark chocolate, 85% cocoa

  Dinner

      2 slices of honeydew melon
      2 slices of fresh pineapple

      Traybake with sunflower oil

Before

After

Sweet potato, butternut squash, bell pepper, mushroom, red
onion, garlic, salt and pepper to taste.

  Supper

      Valencia oranges

  Drinks

Coffee, tea, sparkling water, red wine.

There we have it, still pretty healthy and wholesome :-) with some photos i remembered to take today. Still not getting much else done about organising this blog but at least i am keeping up day to day.

So watch this space and enjoy your food.

My Vegetarian Diet day ?1 17/07/12

Back again and yes my diet yesterday lasted me through the night, so here's hoping today's very similar diet keeps me going as well.
Getting a taste for oranges as a snack now :-)

  Breakfast

      Banana

  Elevensies

Piece of Jacky's ginger and choc chip cake

  Lunch

2 brie with chilli, tomato, onion in wholemeal
      bread sandwiches.

  Dinner

      Traybake with sunflower oil.
Potato, Butternut squash, bell pepper, red onion,
mushrooms. Salt and pepper to taste.

      2 slices of honeydew melon

  Supper

      Valencia oranges

  Drinks

      Coffee, water, red wine

Well another healthy days eating, also done a
lot of walking, feeling quite shattered and am
going to sleep well tonight :-)
I doubt i can keep up this intensity of
healthiness for long, one day at a time ho ho.
Must start taking pictures again tomorrow to add
that touch of glamour to this blog.
I must say though that a simple thing like cutting
up oranges instead of peeling them makes them
so much more accessible, crazy, i had forgotten
      all about it.

               Eat well and enjoy

Dinner
                       Egg chips and tomatoes
forgot to take a picture so here ia one of a funny sign i took earlier

   2       Eggs, fried in
   10g   Sunflower oil
200g Tinned chopped tomatoes (tomatoes [60%],
tomato juice, acidity regulator: citric acid
250g Chips (from the Chinese take away)
   1       Mug of tea

Supper

   1      Mug of tea
   24g  Chocolate (as before)

I can't believe i forgot to photograph my interesting dinner of egg, chips and tomatoes. Doh!.
I also didn't photo my Adventures in yoghurt or Adventures in preserves. Lost the plot a bit, especially during jam making but there you go. Will get my little adventures up on their respective pages as soon as possible.
On the plus side, i didn't skarfe the bar of chocolate all in one go.
On the minus, chips from the Chinese, though i didn't eat the whole portion all in one go, look out for their reappearance in future meals.
By the way, meal titles are more to do with the order things are eaten/drank in, and the gaps between, than any real correlation between food and title.
